The 9618 takes everything we learned from the 9610 and 9612 and makes it more accessible. Reducing the part count was the goal on this design. It has less than half the parts and less special skill is required for assembly. The virtue of patience is practiced for the six hours it takes to weave the seat back. If the Shakers and Hans Wegner had a baby and that baby had a CNC laser....

Material: poplar, danish cord (paper) & hemp cloth
The 9618 Chair is made of Baltic Birch and hemp fabric (and paper Danish cord if selected) It weighs in at a lean 2.4Kg and is our most comfortable chair yet! Made as locally as you like, our 9618 truly represents sustainability and local craft. No glue is used in the frame assembly that is held together by precision Japanese-style wedge tenon joinery. We like to finish it with a traditional Shou Sugi Ban scorched wood finish with an all plant-based Tung oil.
